Our Commitment

At Good+Foundation we understand that privacy is important, and we are committed to protecting the privacy of our donors generally and visitors to Good+Foundation's website (the "Site"). The following information is designed to help you better understand the information we gather from you generally, and when you visit the Site and use our services, how we use this information and the choices you have regarding our use of, and your ability to correct, the information.

By accessing the Site or using our services, you agree to abide by the practices described in this privacy policy, as may be amended from time to time, and to the collection, processing and maintenance of your personal information in accordance with this privacy policy.

Personal Information that Good+Foundation May Collect Online and Offline

The personal information that Good+Foundation collects may include, but is not limited to, your name, mailing and email address, and phone numbers. We may collect certain information when you register to attend an event, sign up to receive our newsletter or make an online donation, but Good+Foundation does not collect or store your payment card information through the Site or in hard copy. If you choose to donate to Good+Foundation using our online option, your transaction will be processed by Fundraise Up. Fundraise Up has its own separate terms of use and privacy notice. If you want to know how Fundraise Up is handling your personal information, you should review its privacy policy.

Consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, Good+Foundation does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such children to provide us with their personal information without parent or guardian consent. In addition, no part of our Site is designed with the purpose of attracting any person under age 13. If we learn that we collected personal information from anyone under the age of 13 without parent or guardian consent, we will delete that information. If you believe that we may have information from or about anyone under the age of 13, please contact us at [email protected] or (212) 736-1777.

How Good+Foundation Uses Personal Information Collected Online and Offline

Unless you otherwise consent, we will use your personal information only for the purpose for which it is submitted, such as to reply to your inquiries, to provide you with information you request or to prepare tax notifications. On the Site, at events, or if you volunteer with us at one of our two warehouses, there is an option to sign up to receive Good+Foundation's newsletter and be on a mailing list to receive information about other Good+Foundation programs and events. At any time, you can add or remove your name from the Good+Foundation mailing list by contacting us at [email protected] or call at (212) 736-1777.

In order to provide certain services and goods on the Site, or to support events, we contract with other companies and individuals. These additional services and goods may include links to other websites from the Site. This privacy policy only applies to the Site and Good+Foundation events and information, and is not applicable to any third-party sites. Any time you leave the Site, or provide your personal information to other third parties at our events, we have no control over this information, nor do we control what those third parties might do with information collected about you. Addionally, third party websites have their own privacy notices that apply once you enter their sites. It is important that you review any third party privacy notices carefully if you want to know how your personal information is handled.

How Your Information May Be Shared

We will not sell, share or rent donor information collected online or offline at volunteer or other events. However, Good+Foundation, in its sole discretion, as it believes necessary or appropriate, may release personal information under the following circumstances:

  • If required by law (for example, a subpoena) or regulation or requested by a government agency;
  • If our records indicate a company may be engaged in fraudulent activity or other deceptive practices that a governmental agency should be made aware of;
  • To appropriate governmental authorities, where warranted by a company’s failure to participate in the advertising self-regulatory process or where a company fails to honor the recommendations of the National Advertising Division, Children’s Advertising Review Unit or the National Advertising Review Board; or
  • To appropriate persons, where your communication suggests possible harm to others.

How We Keep Your Information Secure

Good+Foundation uses physical, administrative and technological security measures to help prevent unauthorized access to and improper use of the information we collect from you. The Site is encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocols, and we maintain a valid SSL certificate. Although we take steps to secure your information, we cannot guarantee the security of any personal information that you provide on the Site or to us directly.

Help Us Keep Your Personal Information Accurate

If you signed up to join the Good+Foundation mailing list, you may contact us at [email protected] to ask us to change or remove your personal information from our database, electronic or otherwise. However, we will need to maintain certain personal information about your donations in our records for purposes such as tax notifications and disclosures.

Computer Tracking and Cookies Online

The Site logs generate certain kinds of non-identifying site usage data, such as the number of hits and visits to our sites. This information is used for internal purposes by technical support staff to provide better services to the public and may also be provided to others, but the statistics contain no personal information.

Good+Foundation also uses non-identifying cookies to provide easier site navigation and access to forms. A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive. You can still use the Good+Foundation site if your browser is set to reject cookies.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may revise this privacy policy to reflect changes in our technology, security measures and website features. We will post the date of the most recent revisions on this page.
